This is the February 14, 1914 issue of L'Illustration, the French photojouralism magazine. There is nothing in this about the theft of the Mona Lisa but it is a beautiful publication nonetheless. Stories and photos include: The French naval school, an airplane sending Morse code in skywriting, the armor of Philip II -- even a cute photo essay of a kitten playing with an armadillo. The magazine is worth it just for the ads alone -- showing the fashions, beauty products and autos of pre-World War I France. Large 12 x 16 format in excellent condition.
